What is RSS?

Also known as "Really Simple Syndication," RSS is format in which web sites can share frequently updated information such as news articles, blog posts, and other general updates.

Users can subscribe to a site's RSS feed similar to the concept of subscribing to an e-mail list, but, in stead of receiving the updates in their email inbox, subscribers can use a variety of RSS feed readers or aggregators to view the updates in a browser, desktop application, or mobile device.

Recommended Feed Readers

Free RSS feed readers are available to people with most any free mail service like Google, Yahoo and MSN, but Bloglines, FeedBucket, and Gregarius offer web-based aggregation services as well. You can also download a free reader like Omea and RSS Bandit.
